Gravitational waves create a 'cosmic symphony' that scientists are tuning into - National Science Foundation

Based on his Theory of General Relativity,in 1915 Albert Einstein predicted the existence of gravitational waves, which are ripples in spacetime caused by massive cosmic events.Their existence wasn't verified until 2016 by the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-Wave Observatory (LIGO).Additionally,a network of two radio telescopes at Arecibo,Puerto Rico and Green Bank,West Virginia monitoring pulsars, which are highly magnetized, rapidly rotating neutron stars, were successfully enlisted in the search for gravitational waves. It is the North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav) sponsored by the National Science Foundation, and reported the first results of the project in 2023,the detection of background gravitational waves based on more than 15 years of radio telescope data.

Stephan's Quintet Sonification from Chandra X-Ray Observatory, NASA Telescopes - posted by NASA Marshall Space Flight Center

Stephan's Quintet is a cluster of four galaxies that move around each other, held together by gravity, plus a fifth galaxy at a very different distance from Earth. This image contains infrared light from the James Webb Space Telescope, with additional data from the Spitzer Space Telescope and X-ray light from the Chandra X-ray Observatory. The sonification is created by highly sophisticated sound engineering. For example, the pitch may be linked to brightness in different ways,or X-rays may be linked to a synthetic string sound.

Supernova explosion 4 billion light-years away revealed using gravitational lensing - astrophysics

Gravity from massive objects such as a galaxy causes light from the original light source to bend,an effect predicted by Einstein's Theory of General Relativity. This results in a magnifying effect, revealing objects we cannot see even with a powerful telescope. In this case, the image of the original light source was in a form called Einstein's cross.

Justice and the Law:Former President Trump to be Arrested,Indictment Unsealed - revised

The indictment of Former President Donald Trump by a Miami,Florida grand jury was unsealed on Friday 9 June 2023.It consists of 38 counts, according to The New York Times, including 31 counts of violating the Espionage Act (unlawful retention of national defense information);5 counts of concealing posession of classified documents (conspiracy to obstruct justice);and two counts of making false statements. The charges were carefully documented with photos, transcripts, and audio recordings. One photo depicts boxes of classified material piled in a rest room.Another photo shows a box of classified material from the Five Eyes intelligence alliance (Australia,Canada,New Zealand, the UK and the US) spilling onto the floor.Still another photo showed boxes of unguarded classified material stored on a ballroom stage known to be freely accessible to Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort members and their guests.* Mr.Trump must surrender at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday at 3 pm Eastern. There he will be arrested by FBI special agents and processed, including fingerprinting.Security is being coordinated by the U.S. Marshal Service;Department of Homeland Security;U.S. Secret Service;Federal Protective Service (courthouse guards) and the Miami Police Department. There are no credible theats at this time.* Federal grand juries consist of people from all walks of life.Florida grand juries and trial juries are highly regarded by the legal community.* In a brief televised statement,Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith, chief prosecutor of both the classified documents case and the January 6th case against Mr.Trump, emphasized that no one is above the law, while at the same time stating that Mr.Trump is innocent until proven guilty. He did not comment on the evidence in the case.* Among the classified documents were some from the CIA,National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Energy (nuclear secrets).

What Will Happen to Former President Donald Trump Now?

Now that Former President Donald Trump has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Miami,he will report to federal district court in Miami Tuesday at 3 pm Eastern. It isn't clear whether he will be arrested as he was before a New York State court hearing in Manhattan. At his arraignment before a judge, the indictment will be unsealed and he will be informed in full of the charges against him,of his rights and obligations.A federal district judge will be assigned to criminal cases such as this one,but a lower-ranking magistrate judge may be assigned to a pretrial hearing.* No photos will be allowed in the courtroom,so we will have to settle for drawings.Sometimes federal courts allow phoneline audio dissemination. The federal courthouse will be heavily secured by U.S. Marshals and the U.S. Secret Service.* The former president faces more serious charges in this case than in New York State.Conviction of these charges typically results in prison sentences.According to a summary of the charges,he is accused of making false statements, conspiracy to obstruct justice and violating the Espionage Act,among the seven separate counts.
