Artemis II astronauts visit European Service Module-2 - ESA

The Artemis II mission is slated to launch from NASA Kennedy Space Center Space Launch Complex 39B in November 2024.The voyage will take the astronauts farther away from Earth than ever before,surpassing the current record held by Apollo 13 by reaching an expected maximum altitude of 8889 km/5523 mi above the Moon's surface.

James Webb Space Telescope captures Saturn's changing season - planetary science - no sound

James Webb Space Telescope imagery from 2022 is superimposed on a Hubble Space Telescope image of Saturn.The yellow areas represent warming and the purple areas represent cooling.Saturn has a very active atmosphere with storms and hurricanes,chemical reactions and brightness caused by icy ring particles raining down on the atmosphere.Saturn also has ultraviolet auroras caused by solar wind particles interacting with hydrogen in Saturn's atmosphere.These auroras can only be viewed from space by space telescopes with ultraviolet capability.

SpaceX Starship 25 stacked on Super Heavy booster 9 ahead of next flight

NASA is depending on SpaceX to place a Starship Human Landing System (HLS) in a Near Rectilinear Halo Orbit (NRHO) aound the Moon prior to the launch of the Artemis III Orion spacecraft on the Space Launch System rocket.The HLS will transport the Artemis III astronauts to the lunar surface and return them to Orion for the trip home.
