NASA Selects Axiom Space for Third Private Astronaut Station Mission: NASA and Axiom Space have signed a mission order for the third private astronaut mission to the International Space Station, targeted to launch no earlier than November 2023 from the agency’s NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Axiom Space,a privately held space infrastructure company,says it is to build the commercial replacement for the ISS.At that time,NASA will contract with Axiom for astronaut access to the station.Axiom Space says it is the only company authorized to build modules connected to the ISS as it constructs the successor space station in Low Earth Orbit,which will accomodate a mix of private industry and government astronauts.
