Justice and the Law:Former President Trump to be Arrested,Indictment Unsealed - revised

The indictment of Former President Donald Trump by a Miami,Florida grand jury was unsealed on Friday 9 June 2023.It consists of 38 counts,according to The New York Times,including 31 counts of violating the Espionage Act (unlawful retention of national defense information);5 counts of concealing posession of classified documents (conspiracy to obstruct justice);and two counts of making false statements.The charges were carefully documented with photos,transcripts,and audio recordings.One photo depicts boxes of classified material piled in a rest room.Another photo shows a box of classified material from the Five Eyes intelligence alliance (Australia,Canada,New Zealand,the UK and the US) spilling onto the floor.Still another photo showed boxes of unguarded classified material stored on a ballroom stage known to be freely accessible to Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort members and their guests.* Mr.Trump must surrender at the Federal Courthouse in Miami on Tuesday at 3 pm Eastern.There he will be arrested by FBI special agents and processed,including fingerprinting.Security is being coordinated by the U.S. Marshal Service;Department of Homeland Security;U.S. Secret Service;Federal Protective Service (courthouse guards) and the Miami Police Department.There are no credible theats at this time.* Federal grand juries consist of people from all walks of life.Florida grand juries and trial juries are highly regarded by the legal community.* In a brief televised statement,Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith,chief prosecutor of both the classified documents case and the January 6th case against Mr.Trump,emphasized that no one is above the law,while at the same time stating that Mr.Trump is innocent until proven guilty.He did not comment on the evidence in the case.* Among the classified documents were some from the CIA,National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Energy (nuclear secrets).
