Should You Buy Activision and Electronic Arts Shares

Mike Olson,analyst at Piper Jaffray,points out that those gaming consoles are getting old.They are even being sold on Craigslist.With the stocks' valuations where they are,they may look interesting.Both Electronic Arts and Activision are within 15% of their low valuation.
We can see over the horizon that new consoles are coming in holiday 2013.From 6-18 months after the launch of a new console,they significantly beat the market.Piper Jaffray has a buy rating on both stocks.
Among Activision's games are Skylanders Cloud Patrol(TM);the upcoming Call of Duty(R):Modern Warfare 5(R);and World of Warcraft:Mists of Panderia(TM).Electronic Arts publishes titles such as Battlefield 3;SimCity;and FIFA 13.

Inside Google's Good Quarter

Google beat its earnings consensus by 11%.Sales rose 37%,and they remain the search market leader.Android search is growing.Google+ has 40 million users.The company continued its robust hiring,generating controversy with the expense of adding 8.2% to its headcount.
According to analyst Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray,the core search business is doing well.The display business is also still doing well.Our price target's gonna be going up.There is some risk in terms of Europe,but the growth in Android is positive for our price target.Android handsets were a huge drive for clicks.
You've got to give them credit:a 13 year-old company hitting those metrics.There could be some big surprises with the MMI acquisition affecting capital expenditures,but there are broader positives for the advertising business,Mr.Munster indicated.

Intel Logs Strong Quarter

Intel beat Wall Street estimates for both earnings and revenue in Q1.Indeed,the Q1 revenue of 12.80 billion dollars was an all-time record for Intel.The chip maker admitted,however,that its projection for Q2 might be adversely affected by disruptions caused by the Japan earthquake.
Guy Richard,an analyst at Piper Jaffray,felt that Intel's enterprise business was quite good.It was a blowout quarter,much stronger than he expected.
On the other hand,to date,Intel has had little traction in the tablet market.They are behind in getting people to write to their processor and getting people to integrate their product,Mr.Richard observed.
