NASA streams 4K video from plane to space station and back via laser for 1st time - YouTube - Space.com
NASA advanced technology:For the first time,a NASA Pilatus PC-12 aircraft with a portable laser transmitter transmitted 4K video from the aircraft to the ISS and back.Laser communications use infrared light to transmit 10-100 more data faster than radio frequency systems,according to NASA.This is especially important for crewed deep space missions to the Moon and Mars.*Text by Space.com and edited by Andrew Taylor

The astronaut candidates,including two from the UAE,have gone through basic training for more than two years,to include:ISS Systems;spacewalk training;robotic operations;operating T-38 jets;wilderness survival;and much more,according to NASA.Most of the training takes place at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.Once assigned to a mission,the astronauts will receive more specific training for that mission,whether for the ISS,the Moon or Mars missions.

The next astronaut class will graduate on 5 March 2024 at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston.They include two astronaut candidates from the UAE.Following more than two years of basic training,the candidates will earn their wings and be eligible for spaceflights to the ISS,missions to the Moon,and eventually,missions to Mars,according to NASA.

Intuitive Machines lunar lander captures amazing views of Earth after SpaceX launch
The Odysseus lunar lander is slated for a lunar landing attempt on 22 February 2024.It will carry six payloads for NASA,including the first ever radio telescope on the Moon.In the photos,the Moon is the brightest object.

About Quasi-moon 2023 FW13,Earth's Heretofore Secret Companion - revised
Space rock 2023 FW13,also referred to as a Quasi-moon,was detected on 28 March 2023 by the Pan-STARRS telescope at Haleakala,Maui,Hawaii.Pan-STARRS stands for "Panoramic Survey Telescope and Rapid Response System."It consists of telescopes and cameras dedicated to detecting near-Earth celestial objects.2023 FW13 is believed to have been Earth's companion since about 100 BC and will continue to circle Earth,in the course of 2023 FW13's elliptical orbit around the Sun,until at least 1500 years from now,in around 3700 AD.Controlled not by Earth's gravity,but by the Sun's,it will not likely be a hazard to Earth,since it travels in a wide ellipse largely,if not entirely,beyond the influence of Earth's gravity.Gravitational control areas are called Hill spheres.It is unlikely that Quasi-moons are affected by Earth's gravity at all.
Some Quasi-moons are possibly near-Earth asteroids.After being detected by Pan-STARRS,2023 FW13 was confirmed by a number of other telescopes.Then it was officially listed by the Minor Planet Center of the International Astronomical Union (IAU).2023 FW13 has an estimated diameter of only 30-50 ft/10-15 m.2023 FW13 will hopefully continue to be studied by scientists who can ascertain its composition.
Quasi-moons are also called Quasi-satellites.Space rock 2016 HO3 was detected in April 2016.Light reflected by it was analyzed and the results suggest it is composed of the same material as the Moon rocks brought back by the Apollo missions.So it could be a fragment of the Moon.It's only in recent times that we've become aware of Earth's previously secret companions through increasingly rigorous sky surveys.

Private Japanese moon lander's view of solar eclipse shadow and Earth are amazing! - iSpace Hakuto-R lander - planetary science
It is possibly the first time the Moon's shadow on the Earth during a solar eclipse was photographed.Unfortunately,they lost contact with the lander and it is believed to have crashed on the Moon.Still,some remarkable images were obtained in the process of the attempted landing.

Lunar Explosion Bears Investigating
This blog would like a spacecraft to photograph the area where the lunar explosion occurred.We could possibly ascertain what kind of space rock hit the Moon.Was it a meteor or even a small asteroid?Exactly how large is the crater it left?The incident also indicates that there are some rare hazards associated with human exploration of a moon which has no atmosphere for celestial objects to burn up in.
On the other hand,human explorers are far more at risk because of the lunar surface receiving radiation bombardment from cosmic rays,solar storms and and even gamma rays.It could be so intense,they could immediately fall ill with radiation sickness,a recent German study suggests.
