The Alchemy of Neutron Star Collisions - YouTube - PBS Space Time - astrophysics
A collision of neutron stars created some of the heavy elements found in the human body.*Dr.Matt O'Dowd is an Australian astrophysicist and the presenter and writer or co-writer of PBS Space Time.

The Boundary Between Black Holes & Neutron Stars - YouTube - PBS Space Time - astrophysics
Gravitational waves were predicted by Einstein's Theory of General Relativity. On 14 AUG 2024,a signal was received consistent with a gravitational wave traveling at the speed of light at the Hanford LIGO in Washington State, the Livingston LIGO in Louisiana, and the Virgo LIGO in Italy.A neutron star is what's left over after a supernova.About 1.5 Suns of matter is compressed into an area the size of a small city, making the gravity 100 billion times stronger than the gravity of Earth's surface. The signal was consistent with a neutron star being in close proximity to a black hole.*Presented and written by Dr.Matt O'Dowd,an Australian astrophysicist.

Neutron Stars: The Most Extreme Objects in the Universe - YouTube - PBS Space Time - astrophysics
Neutron stars have the strongest magnetic fields in the universe. They actually have a solid, crystalline surface and tiny subsurface mountains. Then there is nuclear spaghetti, which is the strongest substance in the universe,as it stands up to the crushing gravity of neutron stars.*Dr.Matt O'Dowd is an Australian astrophysicist and the host and writer or co-writer of PBS Space Time.

Do Neutron Stars Shine In Dark Matter? - YouTube - PBS Space Time - new video - astrophysics
Neutron stars may produce the exotic Axion,a dark matter candidate.Axions can turn into the packets of light called photons.*Neutron stars have strong magnetic fields.Axions may or may not exist, but,if they do,neutron stars produce vast quantities of these dark matter particles and are cloaked in a cloud of them.*The neutron stars that are pulsars may be the source of the mysterious Fast Radio Bursts that puzzle astronomers.Pulsars are rapidly rotating neutron stars that blast out pulses of radiation at regular intervals ranging from seconds to milliseconds.Pulsars have strong magnetic fields that funnel particles accelerating to relativistic speeds, which produces two powerful beams of light.*Albert Einstein won the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921,especially for his discovery of the photoelectric effect.Einstein's work on the photoelectric effect demonstrates that light consists of quanta,or packets of light, which we now call photons. This was a pivotal contribution to the development of quantum theory.*PBS Space Time is presented and written or co-written by Dr.Matt O'Dowd,an Australian astrophysicist.

NASA's SpaceX Crew-9 Pre-Launch News Conference - YouTube
Topics include:effect of radiation exposure on plants and humans, astrophysics, meteorology, heat shield viability, space paint (heat exposure),Eastern Range,Europa Clipper mission (moon of Jupiter study) to be launched on a Falcon Heavy rocket. The launch is slated for 10 OCT 2024.
Astrophysics:with Jennifer Buchli,Chief Scientist NASA ISS Program-The Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER) is an X-ray telescope mounted on the ISS exterior, but some of the original shielding was damaged, affecting daytime observation. At present, only nightime observation is viable,so a spacewalk will be used to augment the shielding.Neutron stars are glowing embers left behind after a supernova explosion. They are the densest objects in the universe. There is a 55% chance of launching the Crew-9 mission in the Crew Dragon spacecraft on SEPT 28 2024.Why aren't Hague and Gorbunov at the news conference? They are in quarantine.

Einstein Probe explained - astrophysics
The Einstein Probe is a collaboration of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS),ESA,and the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics (MPE),Germany. The EP has nextgen X-ray instruments of high sensitivity and a very wide field of view to detect X-ray blasts from sources such as neutron stars and black holes.

XPoSat deployment
Details about XPoSat:The satellite will carry out research in space-based polarisation measurements of X-ray emissions from celestial sources, including neutron stars and black holes. It will carry out long-term spectral and temporal studies of cosmic X-ray sources. It was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota,India on 1 January 2024.
