Journey across starburst galaxy NGC 4449 in amazing Gemini North Telescope view - YouTube - astrophysics/cosmology
NGC 4449 is an irregular Magellanic type galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici,and is around 13 million light years away.It is relatively close to the Local Group of galaxies that includes the Milky Way.The images were released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Gemini North Tescope.*NGC 4449 is a starburst galaxy,meaning it is a nursery for new stars.The Gemini North Telescope in the International Gemini Observatory,Mt.Mauna Kea,Hawaii,provided the images.*Cosmology is the study of the origins and structures of the universe.*
