Daytime fireball spotted over New York, New Jersey & more states - YouTube - Space.com

The American Meteor Society received several reports of a rare daytime fireball on 16 July 2024 over New York,New Jersey,Connecticut,Delaware,Maryland,Rhode Island and New Jersey.Footage was received from Northford,Connecticut and Wayne,New Jersey.Several eyewitnesses said they heard a sonic boom and rattling from what the NASA Meteoroid Office described as a small meteor traveling at 38,000 miles an hour.The epicenter of the event was reportedly over the Statue of Liberty.*Text by Space.com and edited by Andrew Taylor
