Practicing Artemis Moonwalks in the Desert on This Week @NASA – May 17, 2024 - NASA Johnson Space Center

1.NASA Astronauts Kate Rubins and Andre Dawson simulated Artemis moonwalk missions in the Arizona desert near Flagstaff. The simulation involved technology demonstrations and hardware checkouts.*The VIPER robot lunar rover recently passed a system readiness test review, clearing it for environmental testing simulating the harshness of space. It will be launched prior to human lunar landings.*The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope zeroed in on a young variable star in the constellation Taurus,HP Tau.The star is part of a three star system. This type of star hasn't begun nuclear fusion yet like our Sun.It is typically less than 10 million years old, while the Sun is about 4.6 billion years old (astrophysics).*The Polar Radiant Energy in the Far Infra Red Experiment (PREFIRE) climate change satellite is slated for lauch no sooner than 22 May 2024.
