The problem with Tesla is,it is so far out in the future, said Erin Gibbs of S&P Capital IQ.The price target is 267.00.When you look at volatility, you're not getting paid for that upside. All of this hopeful, wishful thinking-we're thinking about 2016 and beyond.Yes,they have new models coming on,but it's far out in the future.*
Deutsche Bank, however, has a buy rating on the stock, with a 245.00 price target.Tesla's entry into home batteries is not being fully appreciated, according to DB.It's leasing option for the batteries means they will have perpetual customers and a revenue stream. With these stationary storage units, you can take power from the grid when it's cheapest, from 12 am to 4 am.*
Basically,Tesla is repackaging its electric car batteries as home and business energy storage systems. With its SolarCity sister company, which, along with SpaceX and Tesla, was also founded by South African-born Elon Musk, there is now an integrated system for both generating solar power and storing it onsite. It is an energy system that stabilises the power grid, protecting users from the swings in solar energy availability because of variable weather and electricity pricing. The system starts at 3500.00 for a residential battery pack.It does need installation and an invertor to convert the battery's direct current into the home's alternating current, which it is believed will almost double the setup cost.
Tesla has competitors in the energy storage business, such as Samsung SDI Co Ltd and Saft Groupe SA,as well ss Coda Energy.Yet demand for energy storage is predicted to experience strong growth in the years ahead as governments set higher targets for energy efficiency. That, plus Elon Musk's personal notoriety and Tesla's reputation for high quality and innovative products could help its stock price to continue to rise in the long term, despite its likely overvalued status at the moment.*

Wal-Mart Stores:Focus and Future
Wal-Mart Stores has named Doug McMillon the next CEO of the world's largest retailer, replacing the retiring Mike Duke in January.Arkansas native McMillon,47,had worked his way up from unloading trucks at a warehouse to being head of Wal-Mart's international division as President and CEO of Wal-Mart International.
Mr.McMillon's position is a CEO training program, said analyst David Schisk of Stifel Nicolaus. He's had a taste of different opportunities and challenges. This appointment is very much expected. The CEO of Wal-Mart is essentially a major political job,on top of everything else.*
Wal-Mart needs to have a focus on being the best to their core customer. They don't have to take over the planet for growth's sake. It's a massive company. What we're seeing Wal-Mart and the entire industry focusing on is omnichannel, which is using your mobile phone to help you shop more efficiently.*
I think Wal-Mart is doing a better job of cooperating internationally, rather than competing, adds David Kelly of JP Morgan Asset Management. The working age population is declining in most of the developed world. You've got to be in the emerging markets, and in emerging markets beyond China-in Vietnam and Indonesia.*
Wal-Mart has done just that by acquiring a controlling stake in South African retailer Massmart.Massmart is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. It has about 290 stores in 14 countries, most of them in South Africa. It also manages 8 wholesale and retail chains, including Game;Dion;Makro;Shield;and CCW.
Founded in 1990,Massmart is Africa's third-largest distributor of consumer goods;the leading retailer of general merchandise, liquor and home improvement equipment and supplies;and the leading wholesaler of basic foods.
South Africa is a fast-growing market, but troubled by a high crime rate and unemployment.*

Huge Tree Kills Camp Counselor Near Yosemite
On July 3 a massive black oak tree fell on a counselor at a remote summer camp near Yosemite National Park,California, killing her instantly.Annais Rittenberg,21,was an art counselor at the Camp Tawonga, located on Stanislaus National Forest near the town of Groveland. She was an environmental studies student at UC Santa Cruz.
Four other adult staff members were hurt by the crashing tree, which was 53 inches in diameter and 72 feet tall.It snapped off at 32 feet, and the top 40 feet of it took down power lines when it fell on the camp staff gathered around a campfire at breakfast. The children were eating in a nearby dining hall and were uninjured.
US Forest Service rangers and firefighters cut the tree into pieces following the incident.Pacific Gas and Electric had inspected the trees in the area in December 2012,but found no problems at the time. There were no signs of decay or disease in the oak that fell,a Tuolumne County sherrif's office spokesman said, nor were there any weather concerns.
The injured staff are expected to fully recover.About 300 campers and 150 staff were in the heavily forested camp at the time of the tragic accident. It is so remote, there is no cell phone access to it,although there is email.
Ms.Rittenberg was also a popular DJ and world music director at the UC Santa Cruz radio station. She had traveled to South Africa, worked with injured animals and hiked to the summit of Mt.Lyell, the highest peak in Yosemite National Park.
This blog extends its sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Crisis In Nuclear Medicine
In recent years, the quantity of medical isotopes has fallen short of demand. In 2008,the shortage of this radioactive material was 3%.Last year, the shortfall rose to 9%.An increasing number of patients need radiological diagnosis and treatment for conditions such as cancer and heart disease, yet only a limited number of facilities exist to meet the demand, and these are older reactors that may experience shutdowns at a moment's notice.Shortages of isotopes result in postponements and cancellation of procedures,as well as usage of more expensive and less effective ones.
The five main reactors for medical isotope production are in Canada,France, the Netherlands,Belgium and South Africa, yielding 95% of the world supply.About 12,000 curie units of radioactivity are produced weekly for medical use.Last year,Canada's National Research University reactor in Ontario experienced a prolonged shutdown. It was also offline in 2007 for a shorter period. The NRU reactor produces 33% of the world supply;so does the High Flux Reactor in the Netherlands. The Osiris reactor in France produces 7%,as does the BR2 in Belgium, while SAFARI-1 in South Africa yields 15%.Another 5% is produced by smaller reactors globally. There are plans to convert a research reactor in Missouri to medical use as well.
The strict nonproliferation regime, and the difficulty of providing adequate security for the isotopes, which could be used by terrorists to make dirty bombs, complicate the response to the growing need.In 2004,the U.S. secreted medical isotopes, among other nuclear materials, out of Iraq, for fear they would be used in a weapon.
