Pillars of Creation Star in New Visualization from the NASA/ESA Hubble and the NASA/ESA/CSA Webb Space Telescopes - YouTube

Made famous in 1995 by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, the Pillars of Creation in the heart of the Eagle Nebula have captured imaginations everywhere with their haunting, ethereal beauty. Now,NASA has released a new 3D visualization of these towering celestial structures using data from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope. This is the most comprehensive amd detailed multiwavelength movie yet of this star-birthing region based on observational data from a science paper led by Anna Macleod,as associate professor at the University of Durham,United Kingdom.Macleod also served as a science advisor on the project.*Text by NASA and edited by Andrew Taylor* Credit:Greg Bacon,Space Telescope Science Institute (STsci) in Baltimore,Maryland:Producer*Frank Summers (STsci):Director*Anna Macleod (Durham):Science Advisor*The Eagle Nebula is about 7,000 light years from Earth in the constellation Serpens.*Cosmology is the study of the origin and structures of the universe.

Journey across starburst galaxy NGC 4449 in amazing Gemini North Telescope view - YouTube - astrophysics/cosmology

NGC 4449 is an irregular Magellanic type galaxy in the constellation Canes Venatici, and is around 13 million light years away.It is relatively close to the Local Group of galaxies that includes the Milky Way.The images were released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Gemini North Tescope.*NGC 4449 is a starburst galaxy, meaning it is a nursery for new stars. The Gemini North Telescope in the International Gemini Observatory,Mt.Mauna Kea,Hawaii, provided the images.*Cosmology is the study of the origins and structures of the universe.* Credit:Images and Videos-International Gemini Observatory/NOIRLab/National Science Foundation/AURA,N. Zooming in on Betelgeuse - European Southern Observatory - astrophysics

The video takes the viewer from the constellation of Orion to the surface of the red supergiant star Betelgeuse, which underwent an unprecedented dimming in 2019 and 2020.This was observed by this blog.As we zoom closer to the star,we see the star's "flames",clouds of dust in a dramatic image taken with the VISIR instrument on the Very Large Telescope. The dot appearing at the end of the zoom is a March 2020 image taken with the SPHERE instrument of the Very Large Telescope. It shows Betelgeuse's visible surface, which has a sixe close to that of the orbit of Jupiter.*Text by ESO and edited by Andrew Taylor*Red supergiants progress to a supernova explosion,so Betelgeuse is closely monitored by scientests.
