Bulletin:Parker Solar Probe Launch Postponed

The launch of NASA's Parker Solar Probe,a spacecraft which will make history as the first to penetrate the Sun's atmosphere, has been delayed until 11 August 2018 at 3:48 AM EDT.During final inspection,a small strip of foam was discovered beneath the payload fairing, resulting in a pause for further study. The satellite was originally to lift off on 6 August 2018.
The payload fairing is a cone consisting of two conjoined panels that protect a spacecraft from the rigors of launch. It is jettisoned once the Earth's atmosphere has been cleared.
The PSP will be launched on a United Launch Alliance Delta IV Heavy rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station,Florida.
